For school we had to make and design an experiment I decided that I wanted to see if a chick that was hatched in an incubator, with a noise maker playing four times a day for 15 minutes each time, would respond to a hen calling them over for food or the noise maker making the noise that they would always hear. Check it out here [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Neat experiment. Smile

I’ve always encouraged my pipped eggs during hatch by gently tapping on the bator window and going “peep, peep, peep.” I swear it helps to speed up the zipping process.

I’ve since upgraded to “chick, chick” or “treat, treat” and ever single chicken on our farm stands to attention and comes a running if they can. Laughing
