Saturday Plans... Sun / Chickens / Lawn chairs

What are your Saturday plans?

I will be in Red Deer at Sunnybrook Farms at the CHB Lawn Show with some of my chickens in the show and relaxing in a lawn chair!!! This is my kind of weekend!

I will be celebrating my 12th adding anniversary with my husband, Doug.

Plans include an evening out at our favourite restaurant in Edmonton and a night in a hotel with a river valley view

I will be trying to stay cool and keep the animals cool too. It is going to be HOT    really, REALLY HOT in our area tomorrow.......36 degrees

Shooting a wedding. Chicken show would be more fun, but wedding photography pays for my chicken habit.

Fishing at the river and then going out for our anniversary supper. Congratulations Schipperkesue, you are 11 years ahead of us!

First day of crazy season for myself ,Sweet Corn is ready 10 weeks of torture, pickers, sellers wholesalers yeah yeah      

Still cleaning up from hurricane. Hope to have the freezer cleaned out and started up again (so I can retrieve the food I saved in a friend's freezer).

Sounds like work but I'm so happy to have power it doesn't feel like it. Never thought I'd be excited about cleaning.

Congrats back at you, Farmer Bob! It is going to be a hot one here...just like was 12 years ago!

Mainly just chillin with my peeps.   

Also might attempt making spatchcock for the first time ever. I have lots of young cull cockerels that are already looking edible...and oh so tender

Congrats to Crystal McKinnon, CHB Lawn Show 2014 Show Champion. She won with her beautiful bronze turkey Chris's Son.

Couldn't ask for a better show. The weather was nice with a good breeze. Good solid turn out of birds. The crowd was steady for most of the day and the concessions were yummy.

Thank you CHB for a great show and time.

My partner in chicken awesomeness attended with a few of her Partridge Chanteclers. Her rooster, who is a son of my rooster, took BV and RB. A great day for Gala Partridge Chanteclers!
