took some pics of my breeding flock at the end of the season this year, before I added the buckeyes back in.  These three roosters were very good breeders and well mannered birds.  I like the way roosters keep the hens in a group and watch for danger as they free range.  I am going to take these three out now and put in two differenent roosters to protect and keep order over the summer for that reason.

Crazy windy day but at least it was warm. I like this girl's comb.

All those bars look like some crazy optical illusion! Do they make your eyes all swimmy when the move?

Not really but kind of hard to get in focus on a windy day!
Supposed to be good camoflage from aerial threats because they resemble hawk patterns...maybe you need some to fool your ravens sue!

Perhaps I do need to fool the ravens...but they are pretty hard to fool!

What a beautiful flock! That second picture almost looks like it could have been taken 100 years ago. There is something timeless about that cuckoo pattern on chickens.
I envy you being able to run several roosters together in your flock, Miry. Once mine get to breeding age I almost always have to keep them separated. Well, I did have 2 brothers that always got along even when in a flock of females, but they were the exception!
