Our young pilgrim successfully hatched seven out of eight eggs. The first day out was sunny and warm.

Are you feeling a little less anxious? Geese are such nice parents, aren't they, even the gander is so caring!

I am much less anxious and won't worry so much next time. She was moving the unhatched eggs around when there were four newly hatched babies. I thought for sure some would be killed. Seven out of eight all healthy, so I guess she knew what she was doing.The gander is great but the female he is bonded with was trying to hurt the babies so we had to separate them. She has a clutch of fourteen eggs that she is only sitting on at night. She seems to have calmed down a lot and is just hanging out up against the fence so we are going to try letting her in again today. I feel bad separating them. I am also wondering about keeping some of them. Is that possible or is it a bad idea because of the genetics. I know very little about breeding. I just would like a few more grass mowers.
