You can use them as seed potatoes, but the truly green ones (green skin) don't have a tendancy, in my experience, to no produce tubers. Cows, i guess, cannot eat them; goats on the other hand, different story. And since my potatoes were mowed down to NUBS at least a dozen times, I can nearly promise that it's nigh impossible for them to OD on them. Don't test that theory -- I may have super goats.

You can send the tomato-like fruits to me in the mail if you like, depending what variety you grew.

If they're not too green, you can eat them. Just peel them a bit harder until your below the green colour.

I wouldn't give the tops to animals on purpose although, like Sweetened, my sheep have nibbled on them before.

Wonder how much truth there really is to things. I find that if I leave my potatoes out on the porch in a bucket, even the slightest hint of light getting on them, the top ones go green. I do as was mentioned, I just peel a little harder. Sometimes I think I could peel even deeper to get the green totally gone. I cook them anyways. I am not overly concerned about green, maybe I should be, but I think the small amount I ingest is not significant enough to kill me. No problem with eating a little green potato, for me anyways, would not recommend it, as I really don't know the real facts. I do not feed raw potatoes, nor anything in the nightshade family to my chickens. I do not even give them peppers from the garden. Just something about the nightshade that gives me the heebeejeebies. I know they will eat red peppers right off the plant, seen them do that, but for the most part, before I stopped feeding peppers and seeds to them, they didn't like them anyways. I dunno. Better things for them to eat than peppers anyways, they are mostly water. Have a beautiful day, CynthiaM.

If you have arthritic issues, you would likely find, within 2 weeks of avoiding any and all Solanaceae plants, potatoes included, your pain and stiffness would greatly reduce, if not go away entirely.

There are people who are highly susceptible to it. I'm not, I just peel it off unless its green all the way in.
