So here is an interesting bit of searching.

This is Poly's first link. It is a lady called Katharine Ward Lane Weems. She is pictured with a Schipperke.

She was commissioned to make a statue to commemorate an actress's love of animals by creating a fountain that would provide water working animals in Boston. Here is the statue she created to top the fountain. It is a Schipperke!
