saw it!  just up, finally swam my way to the computer.

still raining here.  I am in such a foul mood I think the kids are counting the seconds to the bus arrival.  and so am I!

Will message you back in just a bit, and hopefully get caught up here on the board for a bit of coffee chatting that is much needed.

oh boy do I need a friend here. someone that can come and sit in my chaotic kitchen, we could stuff ourselves with baked goods, coffee and a shot of krupnik added for good measure.  dangit, I need a friend.  anyone available-- I promise the position pays really really well!??? haha

I hear you!  There is NO ONE I relate to out here.  At school the teachers look at me like I am a little crazy and keep their distance, like the special ed thing is going to wear off on them!

You stay high and dry, and maybe I need to take a drive down to Cochrane one day.

*Hugs*  Sue

Lanaire I think this weather does things to our heads!  I feel like you when it is wet and dreary and ugly out.  I think we wait all winter for lovely weather and when it is grey and yucky after waiting so long it is just depressing.
Lots of us would love to come have coffee and eat your baked goods. Wink  (well I don't drink coffee, and baked goods just end up on my butt, which doesn't need any more padding, but you get my gist)

Hope the Umbrella stops soon for you and the Sun comes out and you get busy again doin' the things you love.  Hey, Lanaire! 931874130 (had to add this new one, think it is cute)

we have just had some record rains all this month, and this last one-- well its been raining I think for three straight days??   I put a 300g water tank under a down spout for some rain water and I think its full now.  that is a lot of rain.  most areas are evacuated if they are near rivers, stuff like that.
I am thanking all the stars lately that we live (literally) on top of the hill here.  our place is one of the highest topographically spots in the province  (and I actually know this because of canning! ahaha, and baking.  had to adjust ALL my recipes when I moved here from the coast!  nothing like going from mile zero to almost four-plus thousand feet!)

anyhow.  kids are JUST out the door.  I need to clean the bomb that went off in my kitchen and table, and hopefully I can sit while the bread is baking today.

I am almost afraid to go outside and check on animals.  I can see all the pens from the house, but I still like to go out and physically check.... I know everything is just beyond soaked and near floating away!

I was thinking of the Labours of Hercules - cleaning out the Augean Stables.  They were apparently impossibly deep in manure, but being Hercules he was not discouraged and redirected the local river which rushed through the stables and cleaned them out.

Not allowed now due to environmental regulations, but it shows how a classical education can be valuable in farming!

Clearly, no one like me around here.
