School busses not running tomorrow!

Due to the snow they have already announced no busses tomorrow. Schools are open. I am feeling so sick right now, I am relieved. When you are a teacher it is actually easier to go to school when you are sick than to prepare lessons for a guest teacher. I will call in and see if they need me, but I hope not.

I hope you get to stay home and look after yourself Sue.

I heard that there was quite the snow falling up your way. Hopefully there is no need for you to go in tomorrow and you can have a day of rest and recoupe.

It was a scary drive home tonight, that's for sure! I was watching the snow fall all day and listening to the problems in the Edmonton area on the radio. It is still falling now. The worst was feeling sick and coming home with chores to do. I just wanted to climb into bed.

Yep, our school, too. Although if the roads are bad or it's below -30, I keep my kid home anyway. Not worth risking my little girl's safety!

I taught for a period of time at a Hutterite colony school. I had a terrible trip to school one day looking through a small clear area of windshield. I spent the usual day at school and on my way home that afternoon I heard on the radio that school had been cancelled for our county. I apparently was listening to the wrong radio station or the decision to cancel school was made very close to the time I had to be enroute.

I seldom missed school because it was easier to teach while ill than prepare for a sub. Hope you feel better real soon.

Our schools were already scheduled for the students to have the day off tomorrow due to some other reason. But I'm sure it would have been a snow day otherwise. That is some blizzard raging out there tonight!!
Sue, maybe a hot cup of tea and hot water bottle tucked into bed would help. Hope you feel better soon.

I think I will be enjoying my creature comforts tomorrow. My cold has turned to sniffles and chills. Bed, tea, hot water bottles, all will be employed.

Our kids have no busses today as well Sherwood park area. We had just about 1 foot of snow yesterday.
My son had his first driving lesson yesterday. I tock the truck used the 4x4 got him there on time and he called me 10 mins later saying they just cancelled the lesson as they could not make it out the parking lot.

So they brushed off the car and tried to start the lesson...........their lesson car's do not have Winter tires strange.

The person after my son well they phoned them to tell them the lesson was off what a total waist to think they did not have the sense to go check before anyone turned up.
Drove home and was happy to not leave again.

Jist got up. It iis 1:00 and I feel like crap. Maybe I wull be less dizzy in an hour and I will be able to do my chores.

So, what kind of drivers Ed does not have their cars properly equipt? I would not drive in winter without my studded winter tires.

Lazyfarmer, I like horses, but you have me stumped. Perhaps my sick brain is not as sharp as it should be. An explanation is in order!

Driving in Edmonton is crazy. Glassy and sloppy and hard ice lumps everywhere People madly spinning thier tires as fast as they can... everything is at a crawl!

I just don't get that, Arctic. Doug had people behind him tailgating and flashing their lights and high beaming him on treacherous hwy. 39. I hear it is worse in the city. Are you staying in the city tonight? You have a horrible long drive.
