NOBLEFORD HERITAGE DAY -- Poultry Show and Sale?

Hi All!!

I'm from Nobleford, a small town 20 minutes northwest of Lethbridge, AB. We normally host an annual event called Heritage Day for the community...parade, tradeshows, concessions, games...and the like. Well, this event is in dire need of help, for fear of folding all together. Ideas aren't our probably, but volunteers are.

So, what exactly am I asking here you may be wondering. I am canvassing to see if there is any interest from any of the more local breeders, ie, Ty, Jayme, Dan Smith, Anna, etc.....to have a small poultry sale/exhibition. It would be an activity that people could check out and you (the breeder) would be free to sell any stock you would like to sell. Hopefully, you might even get some new people into this addicting hobby. The day for this event is August 11, 2012.

I would be willing to find out where in Nobleford this event could be held.....tents would probably be needed as well as all your own cages, much like Ty's sale, so about 4 breeders would be ideal. However, I can't be the head of organizing the whole thing....my arms are alreday being pulled in different directions on that day.

Lee I think it is a great idea. I unfortunately am so tied up as well I couldnt offer any support in the planning or set up but I would offer my support of being there and having some birds for display at least.

I would love to attend! I don't really think I'll have anything much to sell although there is a slim possiblity I might, but it wouldn't be much.

I don't know how much help I'd be in the planning are as things are a bit up in the air right now - my dad is traveling to Calgary every week for chemotherapy - but I think it's a great idea.

Sorry to hear that about your Dad DCChick, I think I met him at Ty's he makes the really cool carry along chairs

Sorry Lee we planned a trip out to BC and it just happens to fall on that weekend. I think it is a great idea you are doing but sorry I cannot help.
