Working outside yesterday and stopped to pull a weed out of a flowerbed. Shook the dirt off the roots and then stooped to pull some smaller weeds at the base. That's when I discovered that there was a hornet nest right there. Must have had my hand right next to the opening. They only got me once but it was on a tender spot. Ache is finally pretty much gone.
So I figure that, based on yesterday's observations, I have a 100% chance of getting stung while weeding (ie: I weeded once yesterday and got stung once). Even if I give a 10% margin of error which, I think, is quite generous, the statistics are still pretty grim.
Lesson learned. I'll never weed again.
