There's a whole flock of them for Sale on kijiji in Alberta. I think they are out by okotoks? They are excellent stock.

You're a few years too late, my parents had a nice flock of dorpers for awhile! But if you have dorper questions, I can hook you up with them. I used to go help with lambing. Smile

Buff......The sheep in that flock, were sold to those people, from the "original" people that brought Dorpers into Canada. They never bought junk stock.

I sure would ask to go see the sheep, then talk to them about selling a few to you. These Dorpers are the best of the best. Smile

Suspect those dorpers may be related to my parents' flock.

The flock for sale is out of Rimby.
The folks out of Okotoks dispersed their original flock, I think 2 years ago?
And yes, them and Ram H and another party brought the first dorpers to Western Canada.
Ram H has brought in South African Sheep judges to evaluate their flock.

I can remember the names of the folks at Okotoks, but we had met them before when we lived in Turner Valley.

We have RAM H sheep and some from Ellen Wise (also long time dorper breeds who moved to the Island - used to be by High River).

We picked up a ram earlier this year that was grand national champion at some of the previous sheep shows but honestly I can't remember where now (but can find out.)

Send me email at kincaic@gmail.com if you would like more information.

I think you're thinking of my parents' flock, and they sold them all about four years ago - 2009 is the last year they had lambs registered under their name (Mountain View Dorper Sheep). They were in a partnership with the guys who imported the original embryos etc.
