As some of you have already heard, Canadian Heritage Breeds will be hosting it's spring sale again this year! [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Please come and join us on Saturday May 24th in Red Deer, Alberta from 11am to 3pm at the Agri-Center West (Westerner grounds). The even is proudly sponsored by Peavey Mart once again and will be a similar format to last year's sale which included small livestock (chickens, waterfowl, turkeys, etc.), perennial and bedding plants, farm and acreage supplies, and much more!

Vendors there is lots of space available:
10' x 10' Booth without Power $50. With Power $80.
(Tables and cages are not included with the booth rental).

CHB members if you would like to volunteer to assist on the day of the show to help set-up, guide vendors, and man the CHB booth your assistance would be more than welcome.

Please contact Kyle Lawrence or Daniel Chappell for more information, to volunteer to help out, or to book a booth: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Posters for the sale with more information will be available soon!

This is looking like its going to be an excellent sale!  From what I've been hearing there will be some real treasures there such as handmade soaps, feather jewelry and started plants just in time for spring planting.  Prairie Ornamental will have a booth, and Diamond Willough Aviaries will once again have some of their beautiful and unique perennials.  And of course there will be a diverse selection of poultry breeders with chicks, breeding stock and even young ready-to-lay heritage-breed pullets which are always in very high demand in the spring, but almost impossible to find!

Is anyone planning to have ducks, geese or turkeys at the sale?

I will be bringing about twenty young (about 10 months old) partridge chantecler pullets, as well as a few young roosters. Hope to see a good turn out. The challenge is, as always, to leave without buying more birds then you came with. Hope to see some of you there!

Only one more sleep until the sale!

A reminder to everyone who might buy poultry, turkeys, ducks, etc to please bring a pet carrier or two if you own them. Its the easiest way to transport your new purchase and you will be able to move onto the next vendor more quickly as, if it's anything like last year, things will sell quickly  Money Throw
