4 year old hen with spurs

This girl is something of an anomaly, think its time I trimmed these for her, but wanted to take a photo first, these spurs are long!
Not a dq but a point off in showing, I read that the old lines of Doms used to have hen spurs, this is the only one that I have seen

none that ive noticed sue ..she is currently laying and the rir bantam rooster is fond of her..

He must be attracted to those sexy spurs! I have some hens that get spurs as well and wondered if it was genetic or perhaps a sign of an overdose of testosterone.

Curious how are you going to trim them?

well I could just trim with wire cutters but think ill try oiling them and then twisting the caps off.

She looks wonderful for 4 years old! At that age my hens start to get rough looking legs with heavy scales. But those spurs are impressive! She won't have to worry about getting pushed around by any young cockerels!
