Great news! The Alberta Provincial Poultry show in Red Deer next month will be hosting a Cochins International meet!
This is an extra incentive for members of Cochins International to show their Large Fowl or Bantam Cochins and earn points in the CI Master Breeder program.
Even if you aren't a member of the club I hope you bring your birds to exhibit. Cochins are always a hit with the public, so it would be great to see lots of them on display!

Oh geeze, sometimes I wish I could just fly and take what I want with me, fly, as in space travel I guess, out of body travelling, better said. Too far, I don't travel well, but boy, now wouldn't that be fun. My cochins are all done their molt pretty much and look very pretty with their new clothes, pretty soft feathers. And right now, no rooster present with them to dirty them all up Embarassed . I hope the turnout is wonderful, cochins are truly a thing of beauty. Have a most wonderful day, CynthiaM.

Get lots of pictures, whoever goes....I wanna see, I wanna see, I wanna see

cheers How cool! And what a great opportunity for Cochin breeders. Smile

I'm curious though, how does one call a meet for their breed?

Hopefully this will encourage a nice showing of Cochins! It is so impressive to see a large row of these beautiful birds!

Going about getting a meet varies with each breed association or club. If you are a member of one of the breed clubs you can ask them for more info on hosting a meet of a breed you raise.

Yes, that's how it worked with Cochins International. The club hosting the show can ask the director for the area and get the go ahead. There are different levels of meets -national, district and regional. I was reading in the CI bylaws and it says that in order to be considered for the National show there must be a guarantee that at least 100 Cochins will be entered in the show! Thats a lot of fluff! Very Happy
