Hey Everyone,

As the sale draws near, a few questions and concerns have been expressed my way.... and as they say honesty is the best policy.

Hope this will clear up any confusion for the upcoming sale and what people are welcome and encouraged to bring, as well as what people can expect to find at the sale.
This is not a show quality only sale, this is an event and gathering for all quality and healthy heritage breeds!

Most important part of attending this sale as a vendor is the health and wellness of your birds; we ask that you please do not bring any injured or sick birds, or birds that have been in contact with an infected flock to this sale. Out of respect for all in attendance. Lets all do our part to minimize the spread of disease!

The over all goal of Canadian Heritage Breeds, as part of our club mandate is to encourage public awareness and education about Heritage Breeds.

Our Mission Statement

- To encourage the preservation, growth and overall welfare of heritage breeds.
- To be the vehicle that allows the public, both rural and urban, to recognise the strengths, values and relevance that heritage breeds possess in today's marketplace.
- To demonstrate the benefits of heritage breeds through public awareness campaigns, which are designed to educate as well as offer the opportunity to become proactive in the conservation of heritage breeds. - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
The sale is an opportunity, where breeders of heritage livestock can showcase their animals and sell stock to people interested in working with heritage breeds, a great place to connect and network.

With all this being said,
We are not here to discriminate, but rather to educate. The idea is to see a wide variety and a strong representation of heritage breed livestock at this sale, weather you would like to showcase and sell your hatchery stock, show quality lines, or anything in between, all that we ask is that once again please refrain from bringing unhealthy stock to the sale. If it's Sick, Please Keep it Home!

"CrossBreeds or Mixed Breeds", example Oprington/Sussex or a Wyandotte/Orpington/Chantecler/silkie cross for example, We would ask vendors to please not bring them to the sale.

"Crossed Varieties", such as the Bluff and Blaff Orpingtons, derived from a Purebreed Buff and Blue or Black Orpington or another Crossed Variety from a breeding project are welcome.

As much as the club encourages and focuses on Heritage Breeds, we are not going to turn down someone who is looking to sell healthy, Crossed Variety laying hens, roosters pullets or turkeys. We asked that you are honest and up front about the birds that you are selling, to buyers.

It's a wise and fair idea to inform potential buyers of your birds, any information regarding any treatments, such as medications or vaccinations etc.

If someone would like to have a booth to share their knowledge of a particular breed of poultry or livestock we would be happy to help them arrange this.

CLUCK Red Deer will be in attendance at the sale to bring their combined knowledge and love for Urban Hens, be sure to stop by and check out their display!

Also this is not just about Heritage Breeds, this is after all a Spring Sale. There will be all sorts of plants, perennials, art, crafts and so much more.[/quote]
