Getting my foals on the weekend

Well I can finally bring my babies home this coming weekend, I just can't wait. Here are pictures of them

Mine is the buckskin in the front, I really liked the palomino boy also but I can't take them all or can I...LOL

We were so close to getting a youngster at the last sale but just too much on our plates right now, they are so hard to resist though...

Today is the day, 2 pm to be exact...I am so excited

I have had my purebred registered quarter horse beauties for 9 days now, I have named the buckskin Dolly and the other one is Reba

They were very skiddish and I am sure they weren't handled until it came time to wean and brand them.

Dolly was the first one to eat out of my hand, she was eating out of my hand by the 5th day. I think Dolly will be the dominant one.

Today was a mile stone with Reba, she finally ate out of my hand today woot woot! I was also able to rub her head and ears.

It probably seems silly for me to post this but I have worked 9 days to get to this point of trust and am so excited.

I am enjoying them so much

That is great! Sounds like they are off to a good start... I know what that means to you. Horses are very enjoyable arent they?

That is great PC, I know gaining the trust can be hard when they are weaned and then brought to you. But you are making great headway with them. Oh the fun to have with two weanlings.
We were so close to buying a little filly with running lines in her at the last sale, but decided against her with all the other "work projects" we have right now, maybe next year...

It sounds like you are off to a great start with your new babies. Once you earn their trust you can do almost anything. They are lucky to have you for an owner. Lou

As you took on your foals errand, a foal and their mummy were soon parted but they are now in a foal's paradise. Congrats.

What a couple of beauties! Showed them to Horsey Daughter who figures they'd look good in our horse pen. NO! No more horses! They look better at YOUR house. THey really are gorgeous.

They are lovely. It is wonderful to spend the time with them at this age, being gentle, quiet and just "being with them". My grey arab gelding, now in training in Langley, is still delighted to see me even after being away from me for weeks. They don't forget! Enjoy this happy time!
