Yep, time to get the entry forms in, been a little lax about this, smiling. I have a couple big fat orpington pullets to enter and maybe a cockerel. Sitting on the fence about entering a mottled java. Sitting on the fence about entering a blue cochin cockerel with yellow shanks and soles of feet. Sitting on the fence about sitting on the fence and getting off my butt and doing this sitting on the fence thing. Talk about fence sitting. fun to sit on fences, that is where I have been trying to learn to whistle this year.

I am going to make a point of finding out who are my cyber friends on our forum when the show comes along this year. Seems I go and no one ever knows who is who unless who is who is introduced to who is who. I am a very shy woman and would never come up to someone and say are "you who is who". Gonna get that fixed this year. Have a most awesome day, CynthiaM.

I am making my list and checking it twice....no not really. A mental list. You wanna see a fence sitter the entries for the show in chilliwack close tomorrow and who's now printing entries and express posting!

We should make a group meeting this year so name tags or something?

This may be a dumb question, but what if I enter some birds that I would also like to sell at the show. How would that work?

I believe after the judging is over you can post a for sale sign on the cage card. The only thing being a one day show your sales opportunity are limited. There will be sales cages you could put a decoy there but sell the others after you show?

Hello Coopslave
We will be having sales cages and if I remember correctly the cost is $5.00 a hole(don't quote me and I will find out for sure. All birds in sale cages must be purebred and will be checked for any health issues. Hope this helps and you should list with your entry weather or not you need bantam or L.F holes and how many.

Thanks Heather, I saw the sale cages noted. I just wondered if it was the show birds I wanted to sell how I would go about it. I guess if it is a one day show it may not be the best anyways.

You can post a for sale sign as soon as judging is complete and or rent a sales cage and indictate that said birds are for sale out of the show. Even having just Saturday as the main day I sell quite a few out of the show for pickup after the show or Sunday morning.

Hope you show some birds like maybe that nice black Amerucian you had or some Chants, I know there will whites there and our judge has lots of expienance judging the breed..

Thanks Heather, I will think about it. I am not sure I have the time to prepare them. Rolling Eyes

I was thinking of some Wheaten Ams. The Black Am hen is moulting or I would consider her and the PChants aren't going off the place for a year or two yet. Same with the Java. Very Happy

I'm thinking about entering some as well, but I will only be able to be there on Saturday. I have some roosters for sale and would enter a few with the hope of selling them. Weather is a factor in our coming because the chickens are going to travel in the back of a pick up.

if you are going to enter please go to our website for a entry form and you can put the number of sales cages required on it.

Everyone please note the closing day for entries and all need to be paid for by the closing date. Thanks and hope many of you can attend

You can coop in on Saturday morning before judging starts but it is always nice to have the birds settle in well before the judging.

Unfortunately Heather it looks like I won't be able to make it... Busy time at work trying to get everything ready for winter.
I really wish I could make it. Some of my young Speckled Sussex are looking beautiful right now.

Sigh...ya I won't be able to come to the show either. My family is having a reunion down on the coast and we will be travelling that weekend. Too bad, cause I had a few birds I was going to enter, a java pullet and two buff orpington pullets. Oh well, family is family and if I put a poultry show above a reunion, I would probably be black balled Shocked . Not really, but family stuff is very important to me. My wishes for safe travelling for everyone going to the event, with lots of fun. Have an awesome day, CynthiaM.

Sadly its been cancelled due to low numbers. The club can't justify bring a judge in from california for a small amount of birds. I guess they were short about 5 exhibitors numbers depending. They also had many promise to enter and just did not in the end. They are hoping to plan a spring show instead.

So sad we were looking forward to it!

Thats Bad to hear But I am sure with the weather and the time of the year it makes it hard for some people to drive that far
Is there a way to maybe have it at a different time of the year maybe that will help
Same ting is happening with dog shows not enough entry's to keep some of the clubs going
