Canadian Heritage Breeds is excited to be displaying Heritage Poultry at the Red Deer Peavey Mart Customer Appreciation Days.

CHB Display will be located in the Garden Centre at the Red Deer Peavey Mart on Friday April 13th from 12 to 8 and on Saturday April 14th from 10-6. You can follow the sounds of the Turkey...

We are happy to have Red Deer CLUCK (Urban Chicken) group beside us for this display. So please come visit our display of Beautiful Heritage Poultry and ask us any questions you may have. There will also be a Feed Specialist from the poultry feed Peavey Mart is now carrying. Plus Peavey Mart has some great sales on for these two days!

Thank you to the local CHB members who are supplying birds to make this great display.
So if any one is headed to Red Deer on these dates please stop by and chat with us.

What a great two day display! I had a blast talking to people about everything thing from different breeds of fowl to benefits of heritage breeds... We were kept on our feet most of the time with the steady traffic that went through Peavey Mart during their Customer Appreciation days.

The guineas and the Turkey tom did their job for the whole two days making sure everyone knew we were setup in the garden centre with their calls!

I was amazed to see and hear that everyone seemed to have a different favorite bird. I find it hard to not be bias on the breeds I raise myself! I really love to see the enjoyment young and old get from these displays... I wish I could do them all the time.

I hope some people will share their photos of the event as I left my camera in the truck during the display.
There is a huge interest in the upcoming June 16th Sale for CHB, so I hope everyone is breeding lots of everything.

These displays at retail centers are the best free advertising. Customers picked up 463 flyers for the June 16th sale.Thought I might have enough for hanging in my assigned "poster hanging area " guess I am going to have to order a larger quantity. There goes CHB's advertising budget! Money Throw . Are next display is at Sunnybrook Farm Museum in Red Deer on May 26 th. We have a tented display for their "Spring On The Farm" celebration. This is going to be an intense day with the amount of human traffic that goes through the farm on their opening day of the season. At least 500 flyers will be picked up at this event.

Sunnybrook is going to be great, and now that we have been there a couple of years people know to go there to get info about where to buy.

I had the Leduc Rep out here this weekend, just before the snow flew fortunately, to take pics of the chanties and do an article about heritage breeds and the upcoming June sale.

There will be two newspapers sending reporters to the June sale now!
