what is a LAWN SHOW?

I have visions of people releasing boxes of chickens to free range.

Artic it looks really cool if you go to their website they have lots of pics posted.

I had been wondering if anyone was going and what were they bringing. I have been on the fence about going as I only have a few birds that could go and not sure if the trip would be worth it (could be I suppose). Of course the birds that did well last fall are moulting now.... Razz

hi all
i always show at this show! if you all come we will have quite the competition!
heres the link from last years show : [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
i always have a hard time getting year old birds into condition for this show, as it is kind of the end of the breeding season.
i will be there with about 30 birds, as i am starting to shut down some breeding pens already to get them into condition.

I know thats the problem and the young guys are still too young.

Still Cornel 30?? I was thinking I had like 6 plus the ducks!!

My problem is where to stash the birds the night before and the night of as my family will want some visiting time as well if we drive down Laughing

I have a girlfriend in aldergrove that I am sure I could probably keep them in their crates in her garage but I am not totally sure I trust her! Nice friend I am Embarassed

i should have 3 wellie hens, 2 males, 2 white rock males and 5 females, 2 buff brahmas and 4 females all in good condition from last years breedings. i have some real early hatch WR pullets that are looking good so they will be in there too. as well as a white call pair that i raised last fall. havnt been shown yet, should be exciting to see how they do! they both are pretty good! 1 huge black muscovey, and maybe a few grey calls!

The lawn show sounds like fun. Bathing and preparing birds in June should be a bit easier than in the middle of winter. On a nice warm day I suppose they could go right outside in cages to finish drying. I sure hope you have nice weather for the show!

if you are going to come its probably a good idea to start thinking about the entry deadline. 4 more days to get them in!

I know! The white calls decided to mini molt again. They seem to feather in quickly but I am not sure if it will be fast enough! I have my entries printed just have to decide.
