I have kept busy today building a turkey shelter with my children. It was soo much fun to work with my 5 children building a shelter for mu turkeys. We built a shelter similar to a calf shelter. We have the frame pretty much done other than putting the roof on it. We also still have to put a divider wall in as I would like to have an area where I can divide my two breeds of turkeys I would like. The shelter is approximately 8' long by 4' wide with walls on the front being 5' and the back walls are 4'. I am hoping to take pics tomorrow of the frame so far, and am hoping to buy the plywood to cover it in soon. I was pretty happy with my children as they helped cut the wood, held it while I ran the drill to screw the boards together, and helped to hold everything in place while it was being put together. I was quite happy to have them all there helping me, it was so much fun!!

It also kept my mind off my dad which helped, and I did not have to do too much so did not break docs orders too badly! Embarassed

I spent most of the time sitting in an office chair with my feet on the lumber pile. I had to get out of the house today or I was going to go crazy!! I helped the kids get the boards flushed and would put in a few screws but really did not do too much. The kids did most of the work I did the plans

I still have to do the rafter boards and the siding but thought I would post a pic of it so far. We also still have a divider wall to put in so I can have two types of turkeys. Here is a pic I took today. It will also be put on skids, but had to wait on the skids as they did not have any in stock that I wanted.
