Would like to know what everyone will have available for turkey hatching eggs around mid march or April??? Don't really want to buy the big whites from the hatchery again.

I am not certain when my turkeys will start laying, but when they do I will have Bourbon Red and Blue Slate. Also a bronze cross (it is a BBB hen with a BBB/Black Spanish Tom) they make nice sized babies, a bit bigger than a Bourbon Red when finished out.

How much are you going to be charging for eggs?

I was thinking $5.50 an egg. If you take a full dozen then it would be $60 per dozen.

Do the blue palms require more heat than other turkeys or you just need more room and the heated barn is the next on the list? I think the blues are gorgeous and my hubby really likes the royal palms.

I had royal palms once and found they were not as cold hardy as the other breeds I decided on keeping. But PC seems to do ok with them and her cold gets worse than my cold some days.

Might've to get some of each breed then decide after having them lol. Have to say the 3 favs so far are the blue slates, bourbon reds and the blue palms.

I keep mine in a cattle shelter lined with straw bales and they seem to do just fine. Although with this cold snap i did put them in a building, it was more for my own piece of mind. They will be going back into the shelter after this super cold snap.
Honestly i find these guys to be very tough, after all most of the poults in this order died but my blue palms made it. Very Happy

Oh it is a tough decision Rosie, they are all sooo cute!

Rosie my brother is just making a move to Westlock, so my SIL will be travelling through Edmonton a lot in the next few months till summer I am guessing when she makes the move as well. I could get her to hand deliver the eggs to Edmonton for you once they start laying.
Shipping wise, express post, I would say less than $30 depending on how big of box is required to keep the eggs safe. Most chicken eggs I sent that way last year were less than $20.

Ok that sounds awesome, I am not far from westlock or Edmonton so either area would be good. I am thinking of at least a dz blue slates and would like at least a dz blue palm eggs from prairie chick. I wonder if I could somehow get eggs from her to you then have them travel with your sis in law? Also wondering about your americauna eggs?? What colors you have again and how much are eggs?

Go to my website Rosies and it will tell you what colors and pricing.
PC is quite a ways from me, would be smarter to get the eggs shipped from her to you directly, less handling. Unless I see her at a sale this spring then I could bring them home, but not sure how many sales I will be heading to out that way.
