Rolling Eyes Hello everybody I posted something that I am looking for Russian Orloff hatching eggs.
So far no luck.
I was wondering if anybody knows where I can find Russian Orloff hatching eggs?
Or how do you track your rare breeds down?
Any help would be great.

Hi Nova Peter,

I don't know anyone personally that has Russian Orloffs but I could ask around.

When I am looking for rare breeds or a certain bloodline I will usually check some of the different forums, or conduct a search on google for local breeders and then contact the ones who's stock I am interested in.

Hopefully you can find what you are after. Smile

Thanks for the advise I tried google but there are no breeders here in the Maritimes that's why I am looking further west now.

It may also be the time of year. Breeding pens shut down for the season.
Some breeders only sell live birds and do not sell hatching eggs.

You may want to fly in a Trio of Adult birds to your closest airport.
Yes, it is more money up front but you will know the quality of birds and the eggs you are hatching. Saves a years work.

la-chicken, just my inexperienced observation, but after hatching out eggs this year, I'd say it saves more than a year's work, to buy quality adult birds! And, Cheaper in the long run.

Yes you are all 'right' but finding good Russian Orloff's is the biggest problem. eggs, chicks or adultts.
