Once again I am pleased and excited to share the first 2014 Test Hatch Results with our line of Ridley Bronze.

I was a bit behind this year with all that is the hustle and bustle of life, But I managed to get some eggs set and the first fertility test hatch of our Personal Line "Samis Lines" of Ridley Bronze Turkey results are exciting!!

We are seeing again for the 5th consecutive breeding season 100% Fertility!!! And so far 7/8 have hatched with number 8 pipped and working it's way out of the shell. It's rewarding when you have a successful hatch and are all healthy specimens
This fertility test hatch was due June 4th at 11pm approx. They started to pip on June 2nd, most hatched June 3rd. Very pleased.

The final one did not end up fully hatching and died in the shell. It was the first to pip, never hatched.

We have dedicated a great deal of time, care and attention to maintaining and conserving our particular line and will be honoured to share in some of our quality breeding stock once we have grown them out and have had the chance to choose birds that meet the SOP to continue our lines. Mainly after hens to increase my numbers.

There are still more eggs and another hatch due on the 19th. Not to mention the girls are still laying rather well but I stopped collecting a few days ago and they are going broody, Might have to break that, so I will be collecting and setting here again soon.

Here is a pic of the new future

Jonny, how lovely, and what a gorgeous future. Turkey poults have gotta be so cute they are so ugly, smiling. So nice to hear that you are conserving and working hard on the breed, and hats off to you my friend! I really miss having turkeys around here, maybe one day, one fine day...And with that too, have a beautiful day, CynthiaM.

Congrats, perfect timing for Christmas! (June 26 is deadline)

I'm aware of two seperate forms of Ridley. Those that trace back directly to the University and the improved version sold by Performance. Do you know which you have?
