I though that maybe some Chantecler lovers would be interested by a drawing of what should look like a  rooster.

I do not remember seeing it on this forum

very interesting, yes thank you.

I see the wattle is smaller than what i see around here. And the comb is more forward, not the squared straight type. Neck is shorter, body more front heavy and the tail longer. Shorter legs too.

Very interesting!

I have never realize that the legs where so short on this official drawing...

You have to take this drawing like a wish list...out of the +2dz pictures I have of the original OKA birds none look like the one on the drawing except for the head.

But the hen drawing is much like the one we still have here in Quebec

I have White Chanteclers from two diferent sources. I have not had them very long and I'm not completely up to speed on APA expectations. Both tend to have a flatter, level back on the roosters than the photos above. Thiose from one source appear to be smaller than the other. One rooster we had ended up in hot water (good soup) due to attacking a grandchild.

My in house Roo was also out so the young one keep it low profile... tail should make it to 30 degree when 8 or 9 months on this picture  we can see that the tail is a bit higher.

Tank You CyntiaM, Yes In Quebec we work with the Chantecler Historical SOP. Nothing to do with APA games which I do not support. It is very interesting to see all the documents showing up on the Albertan...A very nice bird on it own. Regards
