Thanks, there is at least one good pair there, the rest are worse for wear, only useful as pets now.

Sorry, im even vague to my own mind lol.

Im near edmonton Ab.
What i meant was if a good home or if anyone even wanted them, some are worse for wear with injuries etc. They range this place in complete freedom and relative safety, which is what id want for them if they leave...you know, memes and epigenetics and all that jazz

You break me up, Reneggaide! My friend could provide that for them, if they also lay the occasional fertile egg, I know she is interested in enlarging her flock.

I have some extra roosters from last fall's hatch but am an even longer walk than Reneggaide. Could take them as far as K'loops.

Buckeyes sort of grow on you. I can see keeping them on even when they stop laying.

I had a bunch of Buckeyes taken by a fox (I think) years ago, before I tightened up security at my place. Then two years later a rooster reappeared, looking good apart being totally covered in mud, like he was a zombie of some sort, risen from the grave. I have no chicken keeping neighbours - totally surrounded by Crown land, so he had to be one of mine...

i keep these just cuz, but if they suit someone for little purpose, one hen is cripple and is performing as an alternate egg warmer, the rest eat bugs for me and thats about it.

Reneggaide, my friend is interested. Could you PM or email your phone number to me and I will share it with her. Bobbi is a lovely lady. Ask her about her off grid farm!
