So cute! I love the little fuzzy butts!
Just be aware that chickens are considered a "gateway" livestock.  Oh...and they are like potato chips, You can't stop at just a few. MORE THERE MUST BE MORE!!!!!!!
To that I always ask "Why would you want to stop?"

I had  Crying or Very sad 6 buff orp, 6 barred rocks and 10 aracuanas
Now I have 5 buffs, 6 barred and 10 aracuanas
I lost the one buff, it was so full of poo that it looked like it had a small egg in its backside. It did NOT have pasty butt. I think it has issues digesting/expelling as it was unhappy on the second day, full on the third and dead on the fourth. Everyone else is eating, pooping, walking over each other, sleeping in a heap, trying to fly and generally having a great time.

Oh I am sorry to hear of the loss of the little one. I wonder if it had what is known as yolk or water belly. And this does just happen every now and then. Probably have witnessed that about 10 times in about 7 years. And I have incubated a whole lotta chicks. That is when the chick just does not look good, nor develops well. I had to put down a little one a few days ago. Peeping and peeping, on day 3. I knew something was wrong and when I noticed that he was about 3/4 the size of the others his breed, I knew he was not well. Probably yolk belly. I think that is when the yolk has not been totally absorbed, just can't remember how that goes, but remember well the symptoms. Sigh. It is too bad, but at least you lot lots of other healthy little ones, awesome. have a beautiful day, CynthiaM.
